IDV Indicator FAQ

Broker FAQ

  1. What information is being verified with ID Verification?
  • ID Verification is a process that examines a government-issued ID (such as a state issued driver’s license or passport) to confirm its authenticity. It also checks whether the individual initiating the verification matches the photo on the ID, and ensures that the person is physically present, rather than presenting a photo of themselves.
  1. What does the “ID Verified” icon mean in RMIS?
  • “ID Verified” indicates the carrier has successfully completed ID Verification and the information matches the Main Carrier Corporate Contact information on file in Truckstop RMIS.
  • This icon will also show the most recent date of ID verification of the carrier. This should be used as an additional level of security in your carrier vetting process.
  1. What does the “Partial ID” icon mean in RMIS?
  • When a carrier shows as “Partial ID” in RMIS, it indicates that the carrier has successfully completed ID Verification with Truckstop, but the name that appears on the government-issued ID used in the verification DOES NOT match that of the Main Carrier Corporate Contact. The carrier may also show as “Partial ID” if the name on the ID is unable to be captured.
  • Please reach out directly to all carriers with this indicator and direct them to call RMIS Support at 888-643-8174 to complete verification.
  1. What does the “ID Unverified” icon mean in RMIS?
  • “ID Unverified” indicates the carrier has either not started or not successfully completed ID Verification with Truckstop. It is up to your discretion to proceed with working with the carrier using other vetting methods.
  • We strongly encourage contacting carriers with this flag and requesting they call RMIS Support at 888-643-8174 to complete the verification process.
  1. How often should carriers be verified?
  • It’s up to each brokerage to determine how often carriers should be verified. Truckstop requires carrier identity verification once a year or upon expiration of the ID used, whichever comes first.
  1. What IDs are supported?
  • We currently support government issued driver’s license or passports.
  1. How is the carrier information being stored?
  • The ID image is securely stored for up to 30 minutes to properly complete the verification process and verify the person’s identity matches the records on file.
  1. Can a carrier use a scanned picture of their government issued driver’s license or passport for ID Verification?
  • Truckstop does not support soft copy submissions. The carrier must use their official driver’s license or passport to complete the ID Verification process.
  1. If a carrier is marked as “Partial ID” because their ID does not match the name listed as the Main Carrier Corporate Contact, how can they update the information?
  • Please instruct the carrier to contact RMIS Support at 888-643-8174 regarding the protocol and required process to update the information and initiate a new ID Verification request.
  1. What are the reasons a carrier may fail ID Verification?
  • Damaged document
  • Photocopy or scanned copy of a document being submitted
  • The document or the picture being submitted is failing liveness check
  • The picture is out of focus
  • There is a glare or too much light on photo
  • The face in the picture does not match the one on the ID
  1. How can a carrier re-verify using the same or different ID?
  • Please instruct the carrier to contact RMIS Support at 888-643-8174 to initiate a new ID Verification request.
